Welcome to Prodigy

What is Prodigy?

Prodigy is a year-round, afterschool and summer cultural arts program for youth ages 7 to 17. Prodigy currently operates in six Florida counties, and partners with 20 community organizations to operate programs at 18 locations.

How Does Prodigy Work?

All classes are offered in eight week sessions. Youth can enroll for two classes at a time, and there is no limitation as to the length of time a youth may participate in Prodigy. Each class is offered twice per week for 90 minutes per session.

How is Prodigy Funded and Administered?

Funded by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Prodigy is administered by the University of South Florida and operated by the University Area Community Development Corporation. The University Area Community Development Corporation contracts with arts organizations, community organizations, churches, and other non-profit organizations to provide neighborhood-based arts programming.
